Zeche Zollverein

The UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein in Essen is one of the most famous industrial monuments in Germany and worldwide. The 100-hectare area includes the former coal mine Zeche Zollverein (shafts XII, 1/2/8) and the coking plant Kokerei Zollverein, which ceased operations in 1986 and 1993 respectively.
